German Unity Day as well as the 25th anniversary of the fall
of the Berlin Wall was celebrated by German missions worldwide. The German
Embassy in Colombo is marked these special events with a concert by renowned
German classical quartet Salut Salon on 2 October, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the
British School Auditorium. A few Musaeites stood the chance of witnessing this unique
and wonderful performances by the quartet comprising Angelika Bachman (Violin),
Iris Siegfried (Viola), Friederike Dany (Cello) and Olga Shkrygunova (Piano) who
won acclaim for their unique fusion of classics.
On 27 September, 2014 as
part of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin
Wall a wall painting workshop was being organised by the German Embassy of Colombo.The participants were students from PASCH schools; Royal College, Musaeus College and Jennings International College, as well as
Embassy staff and their families.
The workshop was facilitated by street artist P413. The
painted wall was displayed at the Unity Day celebrations and at a
special event to commemorate the fall of the Wall on 9 November.
