According to a suggestion of a young member of Ms. Udai's class a dinner outing was organised which eventually took place on 7th April 2014. The venue decided was "The Bavarian restaurant" as I mentioned in my previous post. The members and the 3 teachers in-charge and myself arrived at the premises at around 6.30 pm. Although it was scheduled to be over by 8.30pm, due to the unexpected participation of 26, the dinner went til 9.30pm. This was not merely a get-together but this also improved the vocabulary related with Dining and the interactive games such as "koffer packen" which was modified suiting the restaurant atmosphere, kept the members occupied until they got their meals..and the members made new friendships by getting to know each other as they were from different classes and this was also a good exposure for the young learners who were new to the language and also to be familiar with the cultures.

Hallo everyone,

• Let me sum up the recent events of our German Circle

1. The 3rd Colombo International Theatre Festival was held from Friday, 28th March – Wednesday to 2nd April 2014 and several selected plays were featured and students of Musaeus College were fortunate to see one of the plays on 1st April namely “Little Klaus and Big Klaus”  and this was based on a fairy tale of Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. The performance was rather non-verbal or with minimal dialogues for easy understanding by everyone.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
2. A fund raiser for german projects was held at Musaeus College "Annual Aurudu Pola" (fare) on 5th April 2014 at G58 stall and was organised by the German Learners of Grade 12 (1st year).. A plethora of Cool German badges with popular German Phrases such as "Das ist mir Wurst", "Ich Liebe dich" and funny Quotes and quotes of Einstein were sold.. and also creative bookmarks made by the students themselves were at the stall. Even a dozen of second hand books were on sale.. While admiring all the efforts and determination of the organizing committee of Grade 12(1st year) we take this oppotunity to thank all those who contributed by purchasing badges and other items!~                                                                
3. On Monday the 7th April a dinner outing for the Members has been planed and the planned venue is The Bavarian Restaurant (No. 11 Galle Face Court 2, Colombo 3) and those who wish to participate may join with their parents permission..Please get the letter from Ms Aanjalie, The German teacher in charge and contact Manisha Ukwatte for further details :)
