
Oktoberfest is not an unfamiliar word to you. This festival which was originally held in Munich , is usually celebrated from September to October. It is a celebration of joy with a wide variety of traditional food from Weisswurst, and Sauerkraut to Brezeln from the authentic German cuisine.. not to forget the array of Bavarian blends of Beer brews..
German Oktoberfest is celebrated not only in Germany but also worldwide.. Even in Sri Lanka a lot events are organised to mark the importance of German traditions.

Meanwhile in Sri Lanka to mark the completion of 60 years of Germany- Sri Lanka diplomatic relationships plethora of events were organized.

On 6th October 2013 the german street festival was held at the Green Path in Nelum Pokuna Avenue from 3pm to 9pm. The event was initiated with songs sung by students of Musaeus College.

Myriad other events such as dance performances, solo's and puppet shows were staged... Solos were song by our Members of MC Deutscher Kreis as well
The guest performances were by "Talking Horns" a German brass band.
NAADRO added a traditional blend to its atmospheres with its Lankan drum beats..
An array of exclusive German delicacies and the succulent dishes from german Kitchen and German beers were at this street fest.

The Carnival atmosphere with countless stalls offering good food, beverages games and entertainment for fun loving people was truly enthralling.
The cars on display featured Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW, Porsche and BOSCH definitely appealed the participants.. It was nevertheless a wonderful gigantic event!
